About Celyn

Celyn is a Four Star holiday cottage accredited by Visit Wales suitable for four people plus a baby.

Internally, Celyn has been renovated to exceptional standards and contains an array of modern appliances to ensure that your stay in this wonderful area is completely relaxing.

Celyn is approached up a steep private drive approximately 50 yards above the road through Nant Gwynant and 3 miles North East from the village of Beddgelert.

Situated at the foot of the famous Watkin Path route up Snowdon, this ancient 17th century Welsh longhouse is beautifully set up for a wonderful holiday. It is a perfect place to leave behind the bustle of a busy life and enjoy the view, the abundant wildlife and experience the calm and beauty of nature all around.

Celyn has been completely refurbished to a very high standard with every kind of modern facility to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. The cottage sleeps four people plus a cot and has two bedrooms, each of which offers a choice of super-king sized double bed or twin beds. It has a luxury bathroom and a cosy sitting room with a very unusual feature fireplace incorporating a walk-through “tunnel”. Other facilities include central heating, a superbly equipped kitchen with a microwave, a full sized cooker, a fridge with ice box and a dishwasher. Additional features include a laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier, provision of hair driers, picnic equipment, a barbeque, garden furniture, a heated boot room, a cot and a high chair.

Electricity, oil and an initial supply of wood are included in the price of your holiday rental. A folder with detailed instructions for all the equipment and a visitor’s book with comments from previous guests are kept in the cottage. A telephone for making local and emergency calls and for receiving incoming calls is available. Bed linen and plenty of fluffy towels and tea towels are provided and are included in the cost of renting the cottage.

There is a good quality Hi Fi (CD/cassette/radio) in the cottage, however, there is no signal available to receive television at Celyn – not even Sky! A large selection of videos, CDs, DVDs, tapes, books and games suitable for all ages is provided.  There is a TV for DVD/Videos in each bedroom and also in the sitting room.

There are countless walks straight from the front door and there are also two lakes within a few hundred yards of the property where it is possible to enjoy swimming, boating or fishing.

The Llyn Peninsular with its many sandy beaches and water sport facilities is only a short drive away.

Many of the local towns and villages are extremely pretty and offer a good range of interesting shops. However, it is possible to find all you could need in the nearest village, Beddgelert, only three miles away. There is also a strong local art and craft presence and both cinemas and leisure centres are within easy reach. A wide range of excellent places to eat and drink is available throughout the region catering for every taste.

In addition there are many places of interest to visit including castles, slate and copper mines and many museums and exhibitions. Steam railways are a feature of the area – one even goes right to the summit of Snowdon itself!

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
